The village came out in force on a wet and windy Monday night to raise a glass or two to the success of the August bank holiday fete at which a total of (a whopping great) £6,000 was raised. The fete committee – headed by Nina Pertwee – presented cheques to local organisations including the church. Mary Lee, member of the PCC, received a cheque of £1,000 towards the repairs of the churchyard gates and a new noticeboard. £200 was given to Josie McCall towards the flowers in the church. Thank you for these generous contributions to the church! A happy celebration enjoyed by many. A big thank you to Steve Amey for the great photos of the evening.
